Spritual Choices
Choices.
Choices make the difference.
Two people are in the same accident and severely wounded.
They did not choose to be in the accident.
It happened to them.
But one of them chose to live the experience in bitterness, the other in gratitude.
These choices radically influenced their lives and the lives of their families and friends.
We have very little control over what happens in our lives, but we have a lot of control over how we integrate and remember what happens.
It is precisely these spiritual choices that determine whether we live our lives with dignity.
영적인 선택
선택이라는 것.
그 선택이라는 것은 차이를 만들어 냅니다.
두 사람이 똑같은 사고를 당하여 중상을 입습니다.
그들은 그 사고를 당하려고 당한 것이 아닙니다.
그들에게 그 사고가 일어난 것뿐입니다.
그러나 그들 중 한 사람은 사고를 당한 고통 속에서 살려고 하고, 다른 한 사람은 감사함 속에서 살려고 합니다.
이러한 선택은 근본적으로 그들의 삶 뿐 아니라 가족들과 친구들의 삶에도 영향을 미칩니다.
살아가면서 일어나는 일들에 대해서 우리가 조절하기란 거의 불가능합니다.
그러나 일어난 일에 대해서 어떻게 기억하고 조정하느냐를 조절하는데 있어서는 우리에게 많은 선택의 여지가 있습니다.
우리가 질적으로 좋은 삶을 살 수 있는가 없는가 하는 것은 정확히 이러한 영적인 선택에 달려 있습니다.
