Living in the End-Time
We are living in the end-time!
This does not mean that creation will soon come to its end, but it does mean that all the signs of the end of time that Jesus mentions are already with us: wars and revolutions, conflicts between nations and between kingdoms, earthquakes, plagues, famines and persecutions (see Luke 21:9-12).
Jesus describes the events of our world as announcements that this world is not our final dwelling place, but that the Son of Man will come to bring us our full freedom.
"When these things begin to take place," Jesus says, "stand erect, hold your heads high, because your liberation is near at hand" (Luke 21:28).
The terrible events surrounding us must be lived as ways to make us ready for our final liberation.
마지막 때를 살기
우리는 마지막 때를 살고 있습니다!
이것은 세상에 곧 끝이 오게 된다는 것을 의미하는 것이 아니라 예수께서 말씀하신 마지막 때의 모든 징조들이 - 전쟁과 혁명, 민족과 나라 사이의 분쟁, 지진, 전염병, 굶주림과 핍박 - 이미 우리 곁에 와 있다는 것을 의미하는 것입니다(누가 21:9-12 참고)
예수께서는 우리가 사는 세상 속에서 일어나는 일들이 ‘이 세상은 우리의 종착지가 아니며 사람의 아들이 우리에게 완전한 자유를 주기 위해서 오실 것’ 이라는 사실을 알려주기 위해서 있는 것이라고 이야기 하십니다.
예수께서는 “이런 일들이 일어나기 시작할 때 꼿꼿이 서서 머리를 높이 들어라, 왜냐하면 너희의 해방이 가까이 와있기 때문이다”라고 말씀하십니다. (누가 21:28)
우리는 우리를 둘러싸고 일어나는 두려움 주는 사건들을, 우리로 하여금 궁극적인 해방을 위해 준비되도록 만드는 방법으로서 경험해야합니다.
