The Pillars of the Church
The two main sacraments, baptism and the Eucharist, are the spiritual pillars of the Church.
They are not simply instruments by which the Church exercises its ministry.
They are not just means by which we become and remain members of the Church, but belong to the essence of the Church.
Without these sacraments there is no Church.
The Church is the body of Christ fashioned by baptism and the Eucharist.
When people are baptised in the Name of Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and when they gather around the table of Christ and receive his Body and Blood, they become the people of God, called the Church.
교회를 받치는 기둥들
세례와 성만찬이라는 두 가지의 주된 성례전은 교회의 영적인 기둥들입니다.
그 것들은 단지 교회가 사역을 실행하기 위한 도구가 아닙니다.
그 것들은 우리를 교회의 구성원이 되게 하고 구성원으로 남아있게 하기 위한 도구가 아니라 교회의 핵심에 속하는 것들입니다.
이러한 성례전이 없이 교회는 없습니다.
교회는 세례와 성만찬에 의해서 만들어진 그리스도의 몸입니다.
사람들이 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 받고 그리스도의 만찬 식탁에 둘러 모여 그의 몸과 피를 받을 때, 그들은 하나님의 사람들, 즉 교회가 됩니다.
