첫날처럼Going to the Margins of the Church
Those who are marginal in the world are central in the Church, and that is how it is supposed to be!
Thus we are called as members of the Church to keep going to the margins of our society.
The homeless, the starving, parentless children, people with AIDS, our emotionally disturbed brothers and sisters-they require our first attention.
We can trust that when we reach out with all our energy to the margins of our society we will discover that petty disagreements, fruitless debates, and paralyzing rivalries will recede and gradually vanish.
The Church will always be renewed when our attention shifts from ourselves to those who need our care.
The blessing of Jesus always comes to us through the poor.
The most remarkable experience of those who work with the poor is that, in the end, the poor give more than they receive.
They give food to us.
교회의 변두리로 가기
세상의 변두리 인생 취급 받는 사람들은 교회에서는 중요한 사람들이며, 또한 당연히 그래 합니다!
그러므로 우리는 교회의 구성원으로서, 지속적으로 우리 사회의 변두리로 가도록 부름 받았습니다.
집 없는 사람들, 굶주린 사람들, 부모가 없는 아이들, 에이즈에 걸린 사람들, 정서 불안을 느끼는 우리의 형제들과 자매들, 그들은 우리들의 우선적인 관심이 필요합니다.
온 힘을 다하여 우리 사회의 변두리로 손을 뻗칠 때, 우리는 사소한 의견대립, 성과 없는 논쟁, 그리고 서로를 무력화 시키는 대결이 뒤로 물러나면서 서서히 사라진다는 것을 확신할 수 있게 됩니다.
우리의 관심이 우리 자신으로부터 우리의 보살핌을 필요로 하는 사람들에게로 이동할 때, 교회는 항상 새로워지게 마련입니다.
예수의 축복은 항상 가난한 자들을 통해서 우리에게 옵니다.
가난한 사람들과 함께 일하는 사람들은 ‘결국에는 그 가난한 사람들이 그들이 받은 것보다 더 많은 것을 준다’는 특별한 경험을 하게 됩니다.
그들이 우리를 먹이는 것입니다.
