Forgiving in the Name of God
We are all wounded people.
Who wounds us?
Often those whom we love and those who love us.
When we feel rejected, abandoned, abused, manipulated, or violated, it is mostly by people very close to us: our parents, our friends, our spouses, our lovers, our children, our neighbors, our teachers, our pastors, Those who love us wound us too.
That's the tragedy of our lives.
This is what makes forgiveness from the heart so difficult.
It is precisely our hearts that are wounded.
We cry out, "You, who I expected to be there for me, you have abandoned me, How can I ever forgive you for that?"
Forgiveness often seems impossible, but nothing is impossible for God.
The God who lives within us will give us the grace to go beyond our wounded selves and say, "In the Name of God you are forgiven."
Let's pray for that grace.
하나님의 이름으로 용서하기
우리 모두는 상처받은 사람들입니다.
누가 우리를 상처받게 합니까?
그들은 흔히 우리가 사랑하는 사람들, 그리고 우리를 사랑하는 사람들입니다.
우리가 거부당하고, 버려지고, 학대당하며, 멋대로 부림을 당하거나 폭력을 당할 때, 대부분은 우리와 매우 가까운 사람들이 그렇게 하는 것입니다: 우리의 부모님, 친구, 배우자, 연인, 자식, 이웃, 선생님, 그리고 목사님 같은 그런 우리를 사랑하는 사람들이 또한 우리를 상처받게도 합니다.
그 것이야말로 인생의 비극입니다.
이 때문에 마음으로부터 우러나는 용서를 한다는 것은 매우 어려운 일이 됩니다.
정확히 말하면 상처받은 것은 바로 우리의 마음입니다.
우리는,“ 나를 위해서 거기 있어주리라 기대했던 네가 나를 버렸어. 어떻게 내가 그런 너를 용서할 수 있겠어?” 하고 울부짖습니다.
용서는 종종 불가능해보이지만, 하나님에게는 불가능한 것이 없습니다.
우리 안에 거하시는 하나님께서는 우리의 상처받은 자아를 넘을 수 있는 은총을 주시면서 “하나님의 이름으로 너는 용서받았다.” 라고 말씀하실 것입니다.
그 은총을 위하여 기도합시다.
