Keeping the Peace in Our Hearts
Whatever we do in the Name of Jesus, we must always keep the peace of Jesus in our hearts.
When Jesus sends his disciples out to preach the Gospel, he says: " Whatever town or village you go into, seek out someone worthy and stay with him until you leave. As you enter his house, salute it, and if the house deserves it, may your peace come upon it; if it does not, may your peace come back to you" (Matthew 10:11-13).
The great temptation is to let people take our peace away.
This happens whenever we become angry, hostile. bitter, spiteful, manipulative or vengeful when others do not respond favourably to the good news we bring to them.
마음 속에 평화를 지니기
예수의 이름으로 무엇을 하든 간에, 우리는 언제나 마음 속에 예수의 평화를 지녀야 합니다.
복음을 전하기 위해서 예수께서 제자들을 보내실 때, 그는 “어떤 마을이나 고을에 들어가든지 복음을 들을만한 사람을 찾아서 떠날 때까지 그와 함께 머물러라. 그의 집에 들어가서 진심어린 인사를 했을 때, 그 집이 그 인사를 받을 만하면, 너희들의 평화가 그 집에 머무를 것이고, 그렇지 않다면 그 평화는 너희들에게로 다시 돌아올 것이다” 라고 말씀하십니다. (마태 10:11-13)
우리는 사람들이 우리의 평화를 빼앗아 가게 만들어버리는 큰 유혹에 빠집니다.
이런 일은 다른 사람들이 우리가 전하는 복된 소식에 호의적으로 반응하지 않을 때 화가 나고, 적대감이 들며, 씁쓸한 마음이 들고, 악의가 생기며, 내 맘대로 하고 싶거나 앙심을 품게 될 때 일어납니다.
