Hiddenness, a Place of Intimacy
Hiddenness is an essential quality of the spiritual life.
Solitude, silence, ordinary tasks, being with people without great agendas, sleeping, eating, working, playing... all of that without being different from others, that is the life that Jesus lived and the life he asks to live.
It is in hiddenness that we, like Jesus, can increase "in wisdom, in stature, and in favour with God and with people"(Luke2:52).
It is in hiddenness that we can find a true intimacy with God and a true love for people.
Even during his active ministry, Jesus continued to return to hidden place to be alone with God.
If we don't have a hidden life with God, our public life for God cannot bear fruit.
숨겨짐, 친밀함이 생겨나는 지점
숨겨짐은 영적인 삶의 결정적인 특징입니다.
홀로됨, 고요함, 일상적인 일들, 거창한 계획 없이 사람들과 함께 하는 것, 잠자고 먹고 일하고 노는... 그 모든 일을 다른 사람들과 별 다른 차이 없이 하는 것, 그 것이야말로 예수께서 살았던 삶이고 그가 우리에게 요청하시는 삶입니다.
예수처럼 우리도 “지혜”와 “키”가 자라고 “하나님과 사람의 총애”가 점점 더 늘어갈 수 있는 것은 바로 숨겨짐 속에서입니다.
하나님과 가지는 참된 친밀함과 사람들을 향한 참된 사랑을 찾을 수 있는 것도 바로 숨겨짐 속에서입니다.
심지어 예수께서는 바쁜 사역 동안에도 홀로 하나님과 함께 있기 위해서 끊임없이 숨겨진 장소로 돌아갔던 것입니다.
하나님과 함께하는 숨겨진 삶이 없다면, 하나님을 위한 우리의 공적인 삶은 열매를 맺을 수 없을 것입니다.
