Empowered to Pray
Prayer is the gift of the Spirit.
Often we wonder how to pray, when to pray and what to pray.
We can become very concerned about methods and techniques of prayer.
But finally it is not we who pray but the Spirit who prays in us.
Paul says: "The Spirit... comes to help us in our weakness, for, when we do not know how to pray properly, then the Spirit personally makes our petitions for us in groans that cannot be put into words; and he who can see into all heart knows what the spirit means because the prayers that the Spirit makes for God's holy people are always in accordance with the mind of God" (Romans 8:26-27).
These words explain why the Spirit is called the Consoler.
기도할 힘을 얻음
기도는 성령의 선물입니다.
종종 우리는 어떻게 기도해야할지, 언제 기도해야할지, 무엇을 기도해야할지 몰라서 궁금해 합니다.
우리는 기도의 방법과 기술에 관해서 너무 몰두하게 될 수도 있습니다.
그러나 결국 우리 안에서 기도하시는 분은 우리가 아닌 성령입니다.
바울은 이렇게 말합니다: “성령께서... 약함 가운데 있는 우리를 돕기 위해 오십니다. 그래서 어떻게 해야 제대로 된 기도를 할 수 있는지 모를 때 성령께서 우리를 위하여 친히 우리가 해야 할 간청을 말로 할 수 없는 탄식으로 해 주십니다; 그리고 성령께서 하나님의 성도들을 위해서 하시는 기도는 언제나 하나님의 마음과 일치하기 때문에 모든 사람들의 마음을 꿰뚫어 보시는 하나님께서는 성령께서 무슨 말을 하는지 아십니다.” (로마서 8:26-27)
이러한 말씀을 통해서 성령을 위로자라고 부르는 이유가 설명이 됩니다.
