Becoming Food for the World
When Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it and gave it to his disciples, he summarised in these gestures his own life.
Jesus is chosen from all eternity, blessed at his baptism in the river Jordan, broken on the cross, and given as bread to the world.
Being chosen, blessed, broken and given is the sacred journey of the Son of God, Jesus the Christ.
When we take bread, bless it, break it and give it with the words " This is the Body of Christ", we express our commitment to make our lives conform to the life of Christ.
We too want to live as people chosen, blessed and broken, and thus become food for the world.
세상을 위한 양식이 되기
떡을 가지시고, 축복하시며, 찢어서 그의 제자들에게 주실 때, 예수께서는 이러한 몸짓으로 자신의 삶을 요약하신 것입니다.
예수꼐서는 영원 전부터 선택받으시고, 요르단 강에서 세례 받으시는 가운데 축복되시며, 십자가에서 찢기시고, 세상에 떡으로서 주어집니다.
선택받고, 축복받으며, 찢어져서 주어지는 것은 하나님의 아들, 예수 그리스도의 성스러운 여정이었습니다.
떡을 집어서, 그 것을 축복하고, 찢어서 주며 “이것은 그리스도의 몸입니다” 라는 말을 할 때, 우리는 우리의 삶이 예수 그리스도의 삶과 같아지도록 하겠다는 약속을 표현하는 것입니다.
우리도 또한 선택받고 축복받아, 찢어지는 사람으로서 살면서 세상을 위한 양식이 되기를 원합니다.
