A Window on Our Spiritual Lives
Even though our emotional and spiritual lives are distinct, they do influence one another profoundly.
Our feelings often give us a window on our spiritual journeys.
When we cannot let go of jealousy, we may wonder if we are in touch with the Spirit in us that cries out "Abba"
When we feel very peaceful and "centred", we may come to realise that this is a sign of our deep awareness of our belovedness.
Likewise our prayer lives, lived as faithful response to the presence of the Spirit within us, may open a window on our emotions, feelings and passions and give us some indication of how to put them in the service of our long journey into the heart of God.
영적인 삶으로 들어가는 창문
감정적인 삶과 영적인 삶은 서로 구별이 된다고 하더라도, 그 둘은 서로에게 깊은 영향을 미칩니다.
우리의 느낌은 종종 우리에게 영적인 삶으로 들어가는 창문을 열어줍니다.
질투심이 없어지지 않을 때, 우리는 우리 안에 계시면서 “압바” 라고 외치시는 성령과의 교감이 있는 것인지 의문을 가질 수 있습니다.
매우 평안함을 느끼고 “중심 잡힌” 느낌을 가지게 될 때, 우리는 이것이 우리가 무척이나 사랑받고 있다는 사실을 깊이 알고 있는 증거라는 것을 깨닫게 됩니다.
같은 이치로 우리의 기도의 삶도, 그 것이 우리 안에 성령이 임재하심에 대한 성실한 응답이라면, 우리의 감정과 느낌 그리고 열정으로 들어가는 창문을 열어줄 것이며 우리에게 또한 어떻게 하면 그런 정서들을 하나님의 마음속으로 들어가는 우리의 긴 여정에 도움이 되도록 사용할 수 있을지에 대한 어떠한 지표를 제공하게 됩니다
