The Hidden Life of Jesus
The largest part of Jesus' life was hidden.
Jesus lived with his parents in Nazareth, "under their authority"(Luke 2:51), and there "increased in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and with people" (Luke2:52).
When we think about Jesus we mostly think about his words and miracles, his passion, death and resurrection, but we should never forget that before all of that Jesus lived a simple, hidden life in a small town, far away from all the great people, great cities and great events.
Jesus' hidden life is very important for our own spiritual Journeys.
If we want to follow Jesus by words and deeds in the service of his Kingdom, we must first of all strive to follow Jesus in his simple, unspectacular and very ordinary hidden life.
예수의 드러나지 않은 삶
예수의 삶 중 대부분은 드러나 있지 않습니다.
예수께서는 나자렛에서 부모와 함께 살면서 “그들에게 순종했으며”(누가 2:51), 그곳에서 “지혜와 키가 자라고 하나님과 사람들의 총애가 날로 더했던 것입니다.”(누가 2:52)
예수를 생각할 때, 우리는 대부분 그의 말씀과 기적, 그의 고난과 죽음, 그리고 부활을 떠올리지만, 우리가 잊지 말아야 할 것은 그 모든 일이 있기 이전에 예수는 모든 훌륭한 사람, 웅장한 도시, 위대한 사건과는 거리가 먼 작은 마을에서 소박하고, 드러나지 않은 삶을 살았다는 사실입니다.
예수의 드러나지 않은 삶은 우리 자신의 영적인 여정에 있어서도 매우 중요합니다.
말과 행동으로 예수를 따르면서 그의 나라를 위하여 일하고자 한다면, 우리는 무엇보다도 먼저 소박하고, 돋보이지 않으며 매우 평범해서 드러나지 않는 삶 속으로 예수를 따라 가려고 애써야 합니다.
