Being Given
Jesus is given to the world.
He was chosen, blessed and broken to be given.
Jesus' life and death are a life and death for others.
The Beloved Son of God, chosen from all eternity, was broken on the cross so that this one life could multiply and become food for people of all places and all times.
As God's beloved children we have to believe that our little lives, when lived as God's chosen and blessed children, are broken to be given to others.
We too have to become bread for the world.
When we live our brokenness under the blessing, our lives will continue to bear fruit from generation to generation.
That is the story of the saints - they died, but they continue to be alive in the hearts of those who live after them - and this can be our story too.
주어진다는 것
예수는 세상에 주어졌습니다.
그는 선택되어, 축복받고 주어지기 위해서 찢겨졌습니다.
예수의 삶과 죽음은 다른 사람들을 위한 삶과 죽음입니다.
영원 전에 선택된 하나님의 사랑해마지 않던 아드님은 자신의 이 한 생애가 떡처럼 불어나서 모든 시대와 모든 장소의 사람들을 위한 양식이 될 수 있기 위하여 십자가에서 찢겨졌습니다.
하나님의 사랑해 마지않는 자녀들인 우리는 우리의 보잘 것 없는 삶도 하나님의 선택과 축복을 받는 자녀로서 살게 될 때 다른 사람들에게 주어지기 위하여 찢겨진다는 것을 믿어야 합니다.
우리도 역시 세상을 향한 떡이 되어야 합니다.
우리가 축복 아래에다 우리의 찢겨짐을 두고 살아갈 때에, 우리의 삶은 세대를 넘어 지속적으로 열매맺게 될 것입니다.
그 것이 바로 성자들의 삶의 이야기이고 - 그들은 죽었지만, 그들의 뒤를 이어 살아가는 사람들의 마음속에 지속적으로 살아있습니다 - 이것은 또한 우리의 삶의 이야기일 수 있습니다.
