Growing into Our True Freedom
True freedom is the freedom of the children of God.
To reach that freedom requires a lifelong discipline since so much in our world militates against it.
The political, economic, social and even religious powers surrounding us all want to keep us in bondage so that we will obey their commands and be dependent on their rewards.
But the spiritual truth that leads to freedom is the truth that we belong not to the world but to the God, whose beloved children we are.
By living lives in which we keep returning to that truth in word and deed, we will gradually grow into our true freedom.
참 자유함 속으로 자라가기
참된 자유함은 하나님의 자녀가 누리는 자유함입니다.
그러한 자유함에 이르기 위해서 일생의 훈련이 필요한 것은 세상의 수많은 것들이 그렇게 하는 것을 방해하기 때문입니다.
우리를 둘러싸고 있는 정치적, 경제적, 사회적 힘에서, 심지어는 종교적인 힘에 이르기까지 그 모두는 우리가 그것들의 명령을 따르고 그것들이 주는 보상에 의존하도록 하기 위해서 우리가 속박당한 상태로 있기를 원합니다.
그러나 자유함으로 이끄는 영적인 진실은, 우리는 세상에 속해있지 않고 우리를 사랑하는 자녀로 삼으시는 하나님께 속해 있다는 그 진실입니다.
말로나 행동으로나 그 진실로 돌아가기를 계속하는 삶을 우리가 살 때, 우리는 점점 참 자유함 속으로 자라가게 될 것입니다.
