Fulfilling a Mission
When we live our lives as missions, we become aware that there is a home from which we are sent and to which we have to return.
We start thinking about ourselves as people who are in a faraway country to bring a message or work on a project, but only for a certain amount of time.
When the message has been delivered and the project is finished, we want to return home to give an account of our mission and to rest from our labours.
One of the most important spiritual disciplines is to develop the knowledge that the years of our lives are years "on a mission".
사명을 감당하기
우리의 삶을 사명으로서 살아갈 때, 우리가 보냄을 받았고 또한 돌아가야만 하는 본향이 있다는 것을 알게 됩니다.
우리는 우리 자신들이 어떤 계획에 대한 소식을 전달하고, 그 계획을 수행하기 위해서 단지 어느 정도의 시간 동안만 먼 나라에 와 있는 사람들이라고 생각하기 시작합니다.
그 소식이 전해지고 그 계획이 완성될 때, 우리는 우리가 감당한 사명에 대한 전말을 이야기하고, 우리의 수고로부터 벗어나 쉬기 위해서 본향으로 돌아가고 싶어합니다.
가장 중요한 영적인 훈련의 하나는 우리가 살았던 시간들은 바로 “사명을 수행하기 위한” 시간들이라는 사실을 깊이 알아가는 것입이다.
